You can now pay water bills at petrol stations, convenience stores

SHAH ALAM, Oct 1, 2015: Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) is offering alternative ways for consumers to pay water bills, says chief executive officer Datuk Ruslan Hassan.

Ruslan said the new range of payment platforms would allow customers to pay bills at petrol stations and convenience stores at selected locations, apart from paying at authorized payment facilities and Syabas counters.

“Here at Syabas, we are constantly trying to provide the best services for users and our respected customers.

“We hope that with this proactive effort, we can reduce the problems and inconveniences faced by our users as they are no longer limited to paying bills over the counter,” he said when met after the Alternative Water Bill Payment signing ceremony at Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur, Genmarie, today.

He said that in cooperation with several service providers, namely CIMB Berhad, Malaysian Electronic Clearing Cooperation Sdn Bhd (MyClear), E-pay (M) Sdn Bhd, and MOL Accessportal Sdn Bhd, the system was set to provide Syabas customers with an effective means of payment which was aimed to be efficient and convenient.

With the introduction of the JomPAY and e-Pay payment facilities, users were now able to make bill payments at 4,682 petrol station outlets and convenience stores in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

The MOL service portal would allow customers to make payments at 7-Eleven Stores in 797 outlets in the same districts.

In addition, Syabas now provided extensions to its list of online payment facilities, which now included a list of banks through their respective online banking systems on top of its mobile application, mySYABAS.

“We are now moving towards the 21st century, and we know that users are adept with the current use of modern technology and this seems natural, to be providing these services.”

A promotional campaign would run from Oct 15 till Dec 31 for users who chose to pay bills with the JomPAY method, whereby the first 100 daily customers would receive a rebate of RM10 on their respective payments.
