PTPTN payment made easy, avoid CCRIS records

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13: AmBank(M) Berhad and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) today signed an agreement with JomPAY electronic payment to provide added accessibility and flexibility to PTPTN borrowers across the country.

The signing ceremony was attended by PTPTN Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wan Ahmad Wan Yusoff and AmBank Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir.

This partnership is part of AmBank and PTPTN’s efforts to make it easier for borrowers to service their PTPTN loan repayments.

The signing of this partnership will enable PTPTN borrowers to make payments via JomPAY through the internet and mobile banking.

“We are pleased to partner with AmBank and JomPAY in this venture to encourage PTPN borrowers to make steady monthly payments.

“JomPAY is an e-payment service that is available at all banks in Malaysia and thus gives an increased convenience to all borrowers,” said Wan Ahmad after the signing the agreement here today.

JomPay is Malaysia’s national bill payment scheme established and operated by Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyClear), with the participation of banks and a growing number of over 1000 Billers.

Meanwhile, Sulaiman said: “Since June 2015, borrowers who fail to make their loan repayment are registered in the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS).

“AmBank’s collaboration with PTPTN is to also assist current and potential customers with an adverse CCRIS record due to PTPTN repayments.”

According to Sulaiman, applicants with impaired CCRIS records due to PTPTN loans are welcomed to apply with AmBank for any financing as long as they provide proof that the repayment arrangement has been made between applicant and PTPTN.
